You know you've written a heck of a story when you get all caught up in the action while re-reading old chapters for errors, and you're the one who wrote the damn thing in the first place! I'm polishing AAO4 (the one with the horse-riding scene). I know what's gonna happen, and it's still got me all tense!

No, AKA and HFT did the same thing to me every time. Granted, I'm usually reading those to remember what I wrote previously or to settle myself back into the tone rather than polishing things up. I always find mistakes and then I throw things, but still.

I'm rereading this for all three of those reasons. It's been waaaaay too long since I was last making great progress on this fic, and the new chapters are filled with plotholes solely because I've just plain forgotten what the hell went on in the first ten.

I'm also doing a polish/proofread because I'm planning to try out that e-book thing on Aria's Ink once this sucker is done, and I want as few typos as possible.

I know what you mean. I've had the same thing happen to me while reading certain chapters of the Earth Scout Chronicles or The Brooch. Especially The Brooch's Youma invasion chapter and Haruka and Michiru's escape from the Imperial Palace. I mean, I know most of what's going to happen in regards to Haruka and Michiru, but since a lot of my writing is on the fly, it sometimes gets exciting reading previous chapters, as well as writing new ones. ^_^
