Had my doctor's appointment today. They pretty much just took my blood pressure and listened to my heart and told me everything is fine, but I'm having a bunch of blood tests done, so maybe that will turn up something. If not, I guess it's just my weight catching up with me or something.

Afterwards I met up with my dad and my sister, and we went to lunch and then went to see "Cars." Such a cute movie! I really liked it a lot. I might try to go to it again with my best friend, who's a racing fan. It was a lot of fun. Another great picture by Pixar. The ad for their next one, though... -_O I'll have to see another ad before I can make up my mind on that one, but... bleh.

Someone from my high school graduating class found me on MySpace. I haven't decided yet whether or not that's a good thing.

And something's really messed up with the newest submission to the .moon mod queue, and I can't figure out what the hell's wrong with it. Grr. -_-

That dancing one with the penguins looks awful. It has a lot of stars in it (including Elijah Woods), but it just... gah. Cars looks cute though and I want to see that.

I'm talking about the one about the rats in Paris. *points to [livejournal.com profile] sache's comment below*

Yeah, I know. I was just pointing out another animated movie that looks dumb. Recently I saw another trailer for the it before "Over the Hedge" and "gah."

Snakes on a Plane though... No movie will ever top that. Ever.

How was "Over the Hedge," BTW? It looked okay from the ads but I never got around to seeing it.

I thought it was pretty funny and the animation was pretty good. There were a couple parts that I thought were a little scary for anyone who was really young (or Stephen Colbert) but in general it was a good family movie. 9.0/10

The Penguin movie isn't PIXAR. I think it's actually Fox. (I'm not sure.)

The next PIXAR movie is about a rat that lives in a restaurant in Paris. It's called "Ratatouille." He likes good food but the rest of his family is willing to settle on eating garbage.

Here's a link to the teaser trailer.

It's by the guy that gave us The Iron Giant and The Incredibles, so I have high hopes for it.

See, I'm actually looking forward to the next PIXAR movie. It's a Brad Bird movie and in my mind, Brad Bird can do no wrong. (The Iron Giant = LOVE!)

I dunno. I'll have to see a later ad before I form an opinion, I wasn't impressed with this one.

*shrugs*

To be fair, the first ad for CARS was LAME. And apparently, it's awesome. So. You know. At this point, you just gotta learn to trust the PIXAR, I guess.

Hence my decision to wait for a later ad for "Ratatouille" before I decide I'm not interested...

that sounds like a crock of a doctor! If you are having a racing heart all the time, they should send you to a cardiologist. At very least they should do an ECG!! They did that right in the dr. office when I was fainting.

It doesn't sound like your dr. is taking your health very seriously. I would find someone who will.

I'm not. It skips beats on occasion, that's pretty much it.

They offered an ECG but I said no, because I had one when I went to the ER a few week ago and it was normal.

okay, well then your doctor is mostly forgiven. Still surprised that they didn't send you to a cardiologist. They're usually so careful when it comes to heart issues. Even skipping beats can be a sign of something serious. (I have lots of family members with heart issues though, so maybe that's why they checked me out so thoroughly)

Yeah, she did say that because my family doesn't have a big history of heart problems that was part of the reason she wasn't too concerned. And it didn't skip or anything when she listened to it (figures -_-), and I wasn't having chest pains or anything, so...

Um, a doctor isn't a crock or not concerned about your health because they don't recommend you to a specialist. It can depend on the patient's insurance, on the availability of that specialist in the area, the urgency in seeing a specialist or if it's even necessary at that point. It's unfortunate that she doesn't have peace of mind over this whole thing yet, but she isn't the most urgent case when there are people will murmers, racing heart beats, diseases, and lots of other serious examinations.

A lot of times you have to insist on seeing the specialist yourself if your GP isn't satisfying you. If it's not looking like anything is seriously wrong, the doctor really shouldn't recommend you to go see a specialist. Their time is valuable (and sometimes pretty expensive). There wouldn't be any point if it was something like anxiety causing the problem.

The quicker a person can get off the doctor merry-go-round, the better. Hopefully your blood work turns out fine, Dej.
