New York abstains, courteously.

I hate the radio.

If you haven't guessed, I'm back from my monthly journey up north. I'd write about my boring hometown adventures but I know nobody really wants to read about that kind of thing, so how about a brief summary of the high points? I got to hang out with a couple of friends I rarely see, so that was a bit of extra fun, and my mom and I went to "Fun With Dick and Jane," which turned out to be a pretty good movie. I was quite amused by the beginning of the credits.

I got my taxes done in a rare moment of productivity, and I'm getting an amazing refund that will pay off three of my four bad debts, so I drove home last night feeling happier than I'd felt in a long time. There's something uniquely pleasant about just sitting back and waiting for guaranteed money to arrive. Woo, taxes! After two years, I'm finally peering over the edge of the hole I dug myself into in college. As soon as I get these debts taken care of I can finally start saving for the laptop I really want. I felt so good yesterday I decided I might actually start getting some regular exercise again, starting Wednesday when I'm done with these three day shifts.

Too bad I didn't get to sleep until midnight, and had to get up at 4:00 AM today. Ugh. I've been remarkably alert today, considering, but I'm looking forward to getting home in two hours and going straight to bed.

I'm still getting nowhere on this side story that I've decided must be the next thing I post. It's becoming a major block in the pipeline. x_x

Other To-Do's for this weekend:
-Create the theme specs thread (.moon)
-Design and begin building the Marketplace (.moon)

You know what sucks about this new subdomain B.S. here on LJ? Because of the hotlink protection I'm using on my web space, my mood theme is now going to be broken image links on everyone's friends page. With the old URLs I could just allow livejournal.com, problem solved, but now everyone's on their own domain, so no dice. Grr.
