I am going to beat this train.

I'm bored. I have another half hour before my shift ends. I'm making another post. >3
First of all, it's two weeks until Christmas. That means it's time to repost the 10 wishes meme.
*Step One*
Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.
*Step Two*
Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
*Step Three*
Post this anytime after November 1st in your LJ, then repost two weeks before Christmas.
*Step Four*
If you are commenting on a list make sure to send your wishlist post link to people with a list so they maybe can grant you some wishes.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
My list, in no particular order:
1. A copy of the fanfic "Harry Potter and the Improbable Use of Chaos Theory" by Deb Chan. It's a Harry Potter/Discworld crossover that's no longer online. Someone on journalfen emailed me a copy once, but I was dumb and didn't save it before it expired from my inbox. I never got to read it. :( Thank you
csi_tokyo3!
2. A region-free DVD player.
3.A super-happy icon for commenting on super-happy posts. Something you'd use when you just want to go "YAY!" to a friend's awesome news. Thank you
heavenly_pearl!
4. A visit from an online friend.
5. The dotmoon.com domain name.
6. A ride to Ohayocon. I've wanted to go for a few years, but I'm too scared to drive that far in the winter. :|
7.A page on the Fanhistory wiki. >.> Thank you
heavenly_pearl!
8.Mayonnaise/dip containers for bento. Not the little bottles for soy sauce and the like, but the little rectangular containers you can put thicker dipping sauces in. Poke around
bentolunch for examples. Thank you
misscheeveeuss!
9. An external hard drive.
10. A large flatscreen monitor. Ordered my own in a Black Friday sale.
Two weeks until Christmas... eesh... I need to get my Christmas cards done this week.
Today's lunch was on the company. Our bosses took everyone in the area out to lunch this month, one shift at a time. It was at Axel's, and it was FABULOUS. First there were GIANT popovers, I mean HUGE. Then appetizers - enormous onion rings and tasty beef tips. And then entrees. I had the prime rib, and it came with a salad (half a head of fresh, crisp lettuce that you cut up and mixed with the accompaniments yourself) and a loaded baked potato. And then dessert. I had a fancy hot chocolate. It was two hours, the courses were spaced out enough that you didn't get uncomfortably full, and the service was amazing. Really high-class. It was a great time.
Of course, now I'm almost wondering if I should be worried this is a last hurrah before downsizing or something. >.>
At lunch I had the near-displeasure of explaining my primary hobby - fandom - to some of my coworkers. I really hate doing that. -_- I think it went all right, though, they didn't end up thinking I'm too weird. ;P
I'm finding myself once again tempted to do a Sailormoon friending meme. I was poking around the
sailormoonfans friends list and saw a ton of people getting hardly any comments on their personal entries, and even some mentioning how quiet their flists had become. SM fandom isn't like other LJ fandoms, we don't seem to make friends automatically like people in other fandoms do. With the fandom shrinking, it might be good to get some new connections going, and now that I'm active again I think it would be nice to make some new friends... but SM fandom is so unusual, I'm not sure what it would do with a friending meme. :|
Speaking of memes, I have a feeling I did this one earlier this year, but what the heck.
January: I caught a cold sometime last week. Ugggh. x_x
February: I slept 15 hours today. I don't know why I'm so tired.
March: no entries
April: .moon is currently unavailable.
May: Con madness... I saw Dave the other day, and I wanted to say hi, but I was on the wrong side of the car to yell and too chicken to honk the horn. >.>;;
June: Okay, now that I'm somewhat recovered and the massive LJ fiasco appears to have blown over, I'm ready to start my con reports.
July: Now that the major bugs are ironed out @_@
August: HOLY FREAKING CRAP that book was AMAZING!
September: Well. How about that.
October: You know, I kind of miss posting here...
November: Final update regarding "Against All Odds."
December: Hm, been a while since I did one of these, I can't quite figure out how to begin. ^^;;
Pretty boring, with the hiatus and all.
