I'm thinking about giving this LiveJournal thing another try.

I've never been much of a journal person, and I'm still not, but I kind of miss hanging around here. Commenting on other people's lives and not posting anything of my own just isn't the same. Plus I think someday I might like to have a record of what I was doing and thinking during this period of my life to look back on. Still, it's scary. I know what my tendencies are and what I will eventually do, and I wonder if it's worth it, and I... Damn it, I am too old for this crap. I never get anywhere because I waste my entire life being wishy-washy about every little thing. I must be the most pathetic person on the planet. -_-

Anyway, whether I decide to use it more or not, I changed my LJ layout. I'd been using the same blog layout since I first started with WordPress, and it was starting to bore me. I know I'm taking another risk by using one of my cosplay pictures in the header, but that's one thing I'm actually solid on for once in my life. I look how I look, that's just the way it is, and I worked hard on this costume and I have fun wearing it. If anyone objects to that, that's their problem, not mine. (I am tempted to Photoshop the bun into a better position, though. xP)

On a much lighter note, my new bento boxes and supplies arrived today from Japan! :D



TOTORO BOX! So cute! *_* The elastic band doesn't fit so well around it due to the 3D figures, though. And a nicer round sakura-themed box so I'd have something more adult. It's shorter than the standard bento boxes, with overlapping layers, which you'll see better when I use it. ^^

Both boxes came with chopsticks, so with the Totoro box I finally have some that fit in the lid like they're supposed to. :D



I also got some plastic picks and a bunch of sauce bottles in assorted shapes, so I'll have enough for multiple bento at a time. ^^



So now I have five boxes, and I'm all set to make all the ones I need in advance no matter what my work schedule's like that week. I'm off the next five days, but I'm looking forward to using the new boxes this weekend. :D

The sakura box is actually more of a dark burgundy color. It's very nice, it's shiny but amazingly doesn't pick up fingerprints.

Your outfit really is beautiful. Cosplay isn't about being a certain size, it's about adapting the costume to fit you beautifully! I see too many people who try to squeeze or contort their bodies and just end up looking silly... Your dress fits you perfectly and is wonderfully elegant.

Besides, I have never actually been the right size or shape for my costumes. I mean, I'm a full foot taller than Usagi is supposed to be. I often feel just a touch silly dressing as tiny, petite Asian girls. Oh well... I just try to ignore that...

Well, I think there are always options. If you're a bit taller and older like you are, you make a great Neo-Queen Serenity. (Your pregnant NQS icon from your first comment is still one of the loveliest cosplay pics I've ever seen.) I know I could never pull off a sailor fuku, but Pluto's princess dress could be adapted to look okay on me. It's all about choosing something that fits you, like you said. There will always be the people who think fat people shouldn't cosplay, though, no matter how good your costume is. That made me nervous at first, but it's easier to ignore those people now that I've gotten so many compliments at cons. >)

And you know, there will always be more people that think the people that think that are acting like shallow idiots that have ugly hearts. I don't think people realize what an awful person they sound like when they are being a shallow critic, but it definitely draws a lot of negative attention their way and people don't like the people that act like that. So who cares what they think?

And you've got it nailed - you can't please everybody. Though, some people aren't worth pleasing either, so there.

The header looks absolutely beautiful. It suits the picture very nicely. I'm glad you choose to display it. =)

And as for the bentos...I never comment on them because I don't have anything really important to say but I'm totally loving it. They are so much fun! My lunches are boring, so it's kind of fun to see neat boxes, arrangements, colours, and whatnot. FUN FUN FUN!

Hee, it is fun. I got bored fast making lunches every day because it was always the same sandwich, piece of fruit, etc. So then I got lazy and was eating icky fast food every day and eventually that got boring too, you can have too much of anything eventually. x_x

With bento boxes, I can have just about any kind of food I want, and I can make them in advance so I don't get sick of making a lunch every single day. There are more options for variety and creativity, and it keeps it from being boring. :)

I think it would be great if you come back to LJ. If no other reason than I like the people who "dragged" me on to electronic media to stay on the electronic media with me once I'm there. (I was dragged onto Friendster and then abandoned...so it would be great if that didn't happen with LJ.)

Regarding LJ... we'll see. Social networks always seem to spell doom for me, and I'm reluctant to get into that again. But the more I look at my new layout, the more I love it, and it seems a shame to leave it largely unused... xD

In my case the problem is I'm usually the one who ends up being stupid. ^^;; I have this tendency to do and say really stupid things every now and then that cost me friendships. I stopped posting rather than risk more of that happening. :\

I do miss posting here, though, so we'll see. I'll think it over this week while I'm out of town.

Okay, you know what? If someone stops being your friend just because you said or did something stupid then they aren't really your friend. I know you know this Dejana, but I'm just going to remind you. A real friend, a true friend, a friend worth having will forgive you infinite trespasses because they love you. And anybody that doesn't is just being superficial with you and not worth your time and energy. None of us are perfect, we all mess up, but if you realize it and apologize then anybody who really cares will stick with you and those are the friends worth keeping. ^_~
